EUROPEAN-ASIAN FILM FORUM
EFM
As part of our ongoing partnership with the European Film Market – EFM, Bridging Visions (formerly known as Bridging the Dragon) proudly returned with the European-Asian Film Forum—an initiative launched three years ago to deepen exchange and foster collaboration between the European and Asian film industries.
The 2025 edition unfolded over two key events held on February 16 and 17:
Roundtable Workshop - Meeting with Experts: Strategies for Collaboration with Asia
Date: Sunday, 16th February 2025
Time: 15:30–16:30
Location: 2nd Floor at the Producers Hub, Gropius Bau
The workshop featured five expert-led roundtables, each focusing on a key Asian region—Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, and Saudi Arabia. Participants engaged in small-group discussions, using their own projects and questions as case studies to explore tailored strategies for collaboration across these diverse territories.
Panel Discussion- Mapping New Trends and Opportunities in the Asian Film Market
Date: Monday, 17th February 2025
Time: 13:30–14:30
Location: Documentation Center for Displacement, Expulsion, Reconciliation (Stresemannstraße 90, 10963 Berlin)
The discussion brought together a diverse group of professionals to explore emerging trends, market dynamics, and co-production pathways across several key territories. Insights included the vibrant energy of the Indonesian film industry, Taiwan’s growing role in international collaborations, China’s evolving production landscape, and the rapidly developing opportunities in Saudi Arabia as a new frontier for global cinema.
Beyond regional updates, the panel addressed the broader momentum of international interest in Asia and offered strategic perspectives on how European and Asian partners can work together more effectively in an increasingly interconnected industry.
